Limestone Utd play cross-community match at PlayBall

28 October 2013

On Tuesday 22nd September 2013 Limestone United Juniors, a cross community football team played the Dean Clarke Foundation at PlayBall facility at Stormont

The final score was 11 - 10 in favour of The Dean Clarke Foundation. Apart from an impressive display of finishing, the major achievement in the game was the progression of cross community relations in the Tigers bay and Limestone/Newington areas of North Belfast. This was the first match between young people from the Neighbouring communities on the Limestone Road and it was played in a very friendly and respectful manner. Well done to our young people for showing leadership in their communities, and choosing to take part in these developmental community programmes, making this event far more than just a football match.

This match was facilitated by Community Police Officers from the New lodge and Tigers Bay team based at York road and supported via The Irish Football Association and Limestone United - a Football For Hope Funded organisation.

Now for the rematch!
